Meet The Founder
Lindsay Taylor
Hey there! My name is Lindsay Taylor, and I am the sales manager for Madison Resorts by day and baking the world a better place at Cape May Cakes by night. I have been a South Jersey resident since I was born and used to love to bake for all my friends and family when I was younger. I have refound my passion for baking and wanted to take it a step further than just baking for my inner circle by making my cupcakes & cakes available to all with my new company.
Working in Cape May this based year has made me realize there is a need for custom cakes in town, and I'm here to help! I was born and raised in Galloway, New Jersey and moved to North Jersey for a few years while attending Montclair State University. I moved back after college and married my high school sweetheart Ryan, this past May. We have a 3 year old husky- Axel and just adopted a border collie mix- Arlo. Our home is full of puppy love and dog hair!
Although my peers may say I’m a work-a-holic, I do believe in having a strong work/life balance. When I’m not working or baking, I’m enjoying my time at home with my husband and pups, doing part-time real estate & flipping houses, studying interior design, daily workouts, traveling and blogging, and wining and dining with friends.
Thanks for taking the time to get to know your favorite baker, and I look forward to getting to know you all a little bit better as well! Message me today for your next event!
Meet Our Bakers
Lilynn Custodio
Hey y’all, my name is Lilynn (pronounced luh-LIN) Custodio and I’m one of the faces behind your cakes! Lindsay and I are practically like sisters (like actually, her brother is my soulmate and best friend), so that’s partially how I ended up on this journey of Cape May Cakes with her. Well that, and my incredible good looks and talent (obviously).
Like I said, her brother Derek is my favorite person. We’ve been together for four years but have known each other since the third grade. Thanks to him my already large family has become even bigger. My big, crazy filipino family consists of my two supportive parents, my kuya that I look up to the most (but don’t tell him that), a bunch of cousins, titas, and titos that I love dearly and my newly adopted dog, a blue-nosed Pittie named Blu.
In May, I graduated with my Bachelor’s in Psychology from Rutgers University. I currently work full-time as a Case Manager here in South Jersey. Other than that, I do freelance work and art on the side. In the spare time I have left, I like to spend my day going on walks, lifting, eating good food, reading, exploring, and being with those I love!
I’ve been doing art since I came out of the womb so my love for cake decorating naturally fell into that. My dad is a natural chef/baker so I would always decorate the cakes he made for family friends or make cupcakes for our family parties. Because life has gotten pretty busy since then, I’m happy Cape May Cakes has reignited my love for baking and has given me the chance to get back into this craft. Thank you for giving me the chance to share my art with you and I can’t wait to bake your visions to life!
